The lanai is partially covered so you can still enjoy the space during a rainshower and stay completely dry. You might even decide to sleep on the lanai where you will enjoy privacy due to the way the lanai is positioned, other units are unable to see into the covered portion. Why settle for a narrow lanai? You'll find you will spend lots of time there as you get ready for exciting adventures, get ready for a beach day, or simply relax at the end of the day.
Sunrise at the Beach does not have air conditioning (many units at Pat's do not), but each room has a ceiling fan and portable fans are also available, generally the trade winds provide such airflow through the unit you will feel comfortable, maybe even a little chilled at night, blankets provided!. You will feel the sweet scented breezes that kiss the coastline's sandy beaches.
More convenience keeps your stay easy with an In unit Washer/Dryer. All you will need is provided, laundry soap, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, dishwasher pods, dish soap, kitchen linens, and ample towels. Take the provided beach chairs and beach towels, grab the picnic bag, and enjoy the gentle waves broken by a reef just a short distance out which makes for excellent calmer waters for snorkeling, swimming, paddleboard, boogie board, kayak, and more. It's great for children. Check out the box on the lanai for boogie boards, inflatables, and swim aids.
The beach awaits you less than 300 feet away. There is no public access to our beach, you will share with the residents and vacationers at Pat's. Often you may have the beach all to yourself. The green sea turtles love to sleep on our beach! You can often see them early in the morning or a few hours after dark. Sometimes, the larger ones sleep all day on the beach. Please stay 10' away at all times, no white light or flash, use only red light (provided for you) at night. Sadie, the monk seal (endangered species) frequents our beach also, stay 50' away and 150' if a seal pup is present, moms can be very aggressive!
About the Owner
I am a retired post-secondary educational administrator and a Colorado Master Gardener. I have always loved the outdoors and spent many a mile in my hiking boots in the mountains, camping, exploring, and just losing myself in the rythym of nature, her sounds, smells, sights, and tactile experiences. I had an opportunity to travel to the north shore of Oahu to a place called Pat's at Punaluu. It was here where nature grabbed my soul. I think for the very first time I actually relaxed, truly relaxed. As a single parent and grandparent building a professional career, raising a child, and maintaining a home kept me busy. When I retired early I thought I would have more time to relax, but I continued to make myself busy and wondered how I ever had time to work. Maybe being busy is just in my nature. What I discovered in Hawaii is that I had never learned to relax. The swaying palm trees, ocean whispers, and the sweet breezes lured me to it's sandy beaches, and the warm waters of the ocean literally cradled and rocked me like a baby.
